Serie A TIM CAGLIARI WELCOMES SRNA
Cagliari Calcio are proud to announce the signing of player Darijo Srna, who signed one year of contract with option for a second one.
He was born in Metkovic, in Croazia, May 1, 1982. Srna had a great international career, both with clubs and with Croatia.
He is considered one of the best right backs in Europe, but all through his career he also played as a midfielder. He is a player with big physical and technical characteristics, equally good in attacking as and defending.
He grew up at Hajduk Split, in 2003 he moved to Shakhtar Donetsk, where he became captain of the team. With the Ukraine team, he played 536 games, considering Champions League, Europa League and domestic tournaments, scoring 49 goals and making 121 assist. Impressive numbers, like his palmares: with Hajduk he won 1 Croatian League and 2 Croatian cups; with Shakhtar, 1 UEFA Cup back in 2008-09, 10 Ukraine Leagues, 7 Ukraine Cups, 8 national Supercups.
As with Croatia: he is recordman of caps, with 134 games and 22 goals. He played two World Cups (2006, 2014) and four European Championships (2004, 2008, 2012, 2016). Cagliari acquired a player with a big experience and personality, peculiarities that Srna could put at the team’s disposition.
