Shanghai Shenhua Reportedly Offer Chelsea Captain John Terry Massive £12m Deal

Chelsea captain John Terry has reportedly received a huge £12m contract offerfrom Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua.

According toThe Sun, the club are attempting to bring the 36-year-old to Asia on a one-year deal next month.

Terry has been out for much of this season through injury, but has been out of favour under managerAntonio Conte when fit. And former teammate and Shanghai boss Gus Poyet is said to be keen to bring the centre-back in.

Chelsea would be unlikely to command any transfer fee for Terry and the £12m contract offerwould reportedly be after tax. With only six months remaining on his currentcontract with the Blues, it seems that his time at the club could be coming to an end.

Terry last month admitted that a move away may be required, when he said:I still want to play for a couple more years, whether that is at Chelsea or somewhere abroad, I don't know.

It's an option. I am contracted to Chelsea for this season and then will see after that. I'm doing my coaching badges. I don't know if I want to be a coach but I want to do my badges and pass.

Conte is reportedly happy to allow Terry to take on a junior coaching role at the club due to his experience and popularity among the fans.

But he may be tempted to extend his playing career for at least another year before turning his attention towards coaching.
