Ukraine coach Andriy Shevchenko has singled out Gonzalo Higuain and Mauro Icardi as the two players to watch out for in this Sunday’s match between Inter and AC Milan.

The Rossoneri legend is the all-time top goalscorer in the Derby della Madonnina, so it comes as no surprise he’s keen to see how the strikers fare in this highly anticipated encounter.

“It will be a great battle,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “I don’t want to compare him [Higuain] to me, but Higuain has an important role even outside the pitch.

“Milan have a lot of inexperienced players and now they are training with someone who played for [Real] Madrid, Juventus and Napoli.

“Icardi has grown a lot. He’s a leader for Inter and he has shown that during the last few Champions League matches.

“When the team is struggling, he is able to find the winning goal.”

Milan look to have turned a corner after a turbulent year under the ownership of Yonghong Li, and Shevchenko believes coach Gennaro Gattuso is the right man to lead the side.

“I like his Milan,” he added. “He is showing that he is good enough to coach a big team, and to bring Milan to the Champions League.”

Inter sit on 16 points from eight matches, while Milan are currently on 12 points with a game in hand.
