The Communications Director of the Sierra Leone Football Association Ibrahim Camara has described CAF's decision to disqualify the country as just unfortunate.
CAF’s decision is as of a result of Sierra Leone failing to meet the conditions aimed at lifting a Fifa ban. Sierra Leone were suspended from all football by Fifa in October and an investigation was launched.
"It is actually a news that we see to be a terrible one because we all know how much as a nation our hopes were alive in terms of qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations," said Ibrahim Camara
"Having missed out of the biggest football tournament in Africa for the past two decades we saw this year's qualification as the perfect opportunity for us to make it.
"We had the chance to qualify because the group was open but now here we are out and it is just unfortunate."
The Confederation of African Football (Caf), who made the decision on Friday, confirmed in a statement on Monday that all Sierra Leone's matches during the qualifying campaign are now "annulled."
With one match remaining in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, Kenya are top of Group F on seven points from three matches, with Ghana a point behind.
Ethiopia are third on one point from four games and cannot now qualify.
This means Ghana and Kenya qualify for next year's Nations Cup finals from Group F.
