Silva wants Watford to be better than last two seasons

New Watford boss Marco Silva has challenged the Hornets to perform better than they have over the last two seasons.

Silva has assumed the role as manager of Watford this summer and the Portuguese boss has challenged his Hornets side to improve on their 13th and 17th placed finishes during the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Silva said: "Our main goal is to continue to stay in the Premier League, but we want to do better than the last two seasons.

"That's important as well to us, and the way I work is to think game-by-game, prepare week-by-week, and be strong on matchdays. We have one goal in our mind, and if you believe like I do then we can.

"The club weren't happy with the situation and wanted to prove again Watford is a Premier League club - but Gino said to me he and the board want more.

"To do that you need more than just ambition, you need to improve the squad and all these things they said to me we will do, and at that moment I took the decision."
