Slaven Bilic Insists That West Ham 'Deserved Something' After Loss to Leicester

Slaven Bilic was positive despite West Ham's three-game winning run ending at Leicester, after Islam Slimani's first-half header proved to be the difference between the sides.

West Ham slip to thirteenth in the Premier League table, but have an eight-point cushion over the relegation zone.

"It's frustrating. To be fair, they started well," said Bilic toSky Sports. "After the first twenty minutes, we were the better team, and in the whole second half we were the better team.

"They defended well; they defended with bodies. I have a feeling that we played a good game and deserved something."

Leicester fans were complaining bitterly about the referee's decision-making, but there were some rash tackles on West Ham players which were treated leniently by the official. In particular, Daniel Amartey's lunge on Mark Noble might have warranted a red card, but only got a yellow.

"There were a few tackles, but it's the Premier League. None of the tackles were nasty deliberately. A couple of tackles were dangerous, but no hard feelings. We can only hope that Mark is not injured seriously."

West Ham had won three games in a row, but over Hull, Burnley and Swansea. Leicester was a step up for the Hammers.

"Today we played good, better than in some of the games that we have won. We have to build on this; there are a lot of positive things."
