Expressing a profound lack of enthusiasm, South Africa's coach, Hugo Broos, dismissed the forthcoming clash against DR Congo in the 3rd place match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Broos, still reeling from his team's defeat in the semi-finals against Nigeria, candidly conveyed his disinterest during a pre-match press conference held today.

The encounter appears to hold minimal significance for Hugo Broos beyond mere statistical implications. According to Broos, he is interested in number one and that is what people remember.

“If it was up to me this match wouldn't happen, the most important thing is number one, the one people remember. Whether we are 3rd or 4th tomorrow, for me, it's exactly the same thing. It’s just for statistics,” he said.

The clash is slated for Saturday, February 10, at the Félix Houphouët Boigny Stadium in Abidjan
