Southampton close to completing £50m double swoop

Mauricio Pellegrino is hopeful Southampton will complete deals for two players this week.

The Saints boss is desperate to add more firepower to his side as they fell into the relegation zone last weekend.

And the Daily Echo says Spartak Moscow winger Quincy Promes could arrive for a club-record £30m, and a £20m deal is close to being completed for Monaco striker Guido Carrillo.

"Hopefully next week will be a good week for us," said Pellegrino.

"In the market anything can change in one second. It's like football.

"Negotiation is about two sides and you have limitations to arrive at a point and then you need the other part to do the job."
