Southampton Ready to Fight With Host of European Clubs for the Signature of Valencia Ace

Southampton are lining up a move for Valencia's Dani Parejo in the upcoming January transfer window, as manager Claude Puel looks to add reinforcements to his side.


The £16.7m rated midfielder is understood to be wanted by a number of top European sides including the likes of Inter Milan, Sevilla and Monaco, but having watched Parejo for sometime, the Saints are willing to enter the race to sign the wantaway star.

The 27-year-old has been at the Mestalla since 2011 but admitted last summer that he was keen to leave the club. Although he failed to seal a move to Sevilla in August, it's expected that he will join a number of players who willleave Valencia in the new year, as the club begin a massive overhaul of their squad.


And whilst Parejo's contract runs until 2020, theStarreport thatSouthampton are hoping to take advantage of Valencia's clear-out by pinching the midfielder in January.

Parejo has currently made 15 appearances this season and has three goals to his name. Saints boss Claude Puel is believed to beseeking a versatile midfielder who can play in a variety of roles and the Frenchman has identified the Valencia star as key target.


The south coast club are understood to have made enquiries about the services of theformer Spain under-21 player and will be confident of pipping Sevilla to Parejo's signature,as Valencia will be reluctant to sell to a fellow La Liga rival.
