Spanish Reports Claim Real Madrid are Lining Up Shock Bid for Out of Favour Chelsea Midfielder

Real Madrid are interested in signing out of favour Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, reports in Spain claim.

Fabregas has found grabbing a place in Chelsea's starting team to be hard work this season, with the duo of Nemanja Matic and N'Golo Kante proving to be of vital importance in Antonio Conte's side.

The former Arsenal midfielder is not well regarded by Real fans, having previously played for La Liga rivals Barcelona, butDiario Golclaim manager Zinedine Zidane is interested in the 29-year-old.

Zidane is reportedly eager to sign a player with 'Barcelona DNA', and could make the move for Fabregas in the summer.

James Rodriguez and Isco have largely struggled for form this season and could be replaced by Fabregas, with Chelsea reportedly ready to cash in on the out of favour midfielder.

Fabregas has made 15 Premier League appearances this season, with 10 of those coming as a substitute, and has contributed two goals and six assists, scoring against his former side Arsenal during the 3-1 victory on Saturday.

Real currently have the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro available in midfield, and Fabregas' chances of playing regularly may not increase with a move from Stamford Bridge to the Bernabeu.

While Chelsea are storming to the Premier League title, Real are also in the driving seat in their respective league challenge, with Zidane's side currently a point ahead of Barcelona with two games in hand.

Fabregas has made a total of 114 appearances for Chelsea since signing from Barcelona in 2014, scoring 15 times and winning the Premier League and League Cup during the 2014-15 season.
