Speedy recovery and come back stronger – CK Akonnor to Covid-19 infected Black Stars players

Coach CK Akonnor has urged the Black Stars players who have tested positive for the Coronavirus disease to stay strong and come back stronger.

In the international break, Ghana played 2 friendly matches against Mali and Qatar as part of preparations for Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers next month.

At the end of the break, as many as 6 players who played in the two friendly matches have tested positive for the Covid-19 after returning to their respective clubs.

In a post on Twitter today, Coach CK Akonnor has wished the infected players a speedy recovery.

“Speedy recovery to all the players who have tested positive for coronavirus. Stay strong and come back stronger

“Let’s continue to adhere to all the safety protocols. Stay safe”, a post on the Twitter page of Coach Akonnor reads.

The players who have tested positive for the disease include Jordan Ayew, Joseph Aidoo, Gideon Mensah, Caleb Ekuban, Kassim Adams, and Bernard Mensah.
