Minister for Youth and Sports Nii Lante Vanderpuye has asked the Ghana Football Association to fly down foreign based Black Stars players for the final AFCON qualifier against Rwanda since his outfit do not have the financial muscle to do so.

The Black Stars who have already secured qualification for the 2017 AFCON slated for Gabon are scheduled to take on their opponents from Rwanda on September 3.

Hon. Nii Lante Vanderpuye however thinks the Black Stars coach Avram Grant should invite local based players for the game just like the Rwandans have done to save cost.

"Ministry has no money to buy tickets for the foreign based players of the Black Stars to play the last hurdle of the AFCON 2017 qualifier against Rwanda this Saturday" "We do not have the financial strength to get the Black Stars players tickets to come and play the Rwanda game. If the FA has the money to pay for the players, they should do so. Simple!!" Nii Lante Vanderpuye said on Happy Fm’s Anopa Bosuo Sports. The Black Stars players are expected to arrive in Accra to begin training with head coach Grant ahead of the weekend’s game.
