Spurs Boss Mauricio Pochettino Quick to Move on After 1-0 Loss at Old Trafford

Published on: 11 December 2016

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino was quick to brush off his side's defeat at Manchester United on Sunday.

His team were lacklustre during their 1-0 loss at Old Trafford, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan's first-half strike enough to earn United a deserved victory. Speaking toSky Sportsafter the game, Pochettino cited Spurs' inability to finish their few chances as the main reason for their downfall.

"I think it was an even game. I think it was a very competitive game that was difficult to play, but it always is here at Old Trafford. There's not a lot more to say, and now it's about looking forward,"the 44-year-old stated.

"We created some chances. I think we had some clear chances to score but I think they were more clinical in the box and for that, they scored and we didn't.

"We always try to play and we build very well from the back, but then we made a mistake [for the goal], but that is football. It's about mistakes and sometimes you're right in your decisions but we cannot change anything now.

"We created some good opportunities and the team always believed. We fought until the end to try and score but we couldn't find it. Now it is about looking forward to the next game."

Mousa Dembele was substituted following a knock, and Pochettino could not confirm whether the midfielder would be available for Spurs' home game against Hull City on Wednesday.

"He received a kick in his foot," Pochettino revealed.

"But now we need to see what happens and assess him to see if he is available next Wednesday."
