Spurs Hitman Harry Kane Targeting Unbeaten Send Off Ahead of White Hart Lane Showdown

Published on: 27 February 2017

This season will be Tottenham's last at White Hart Lane, with the club moving to Wembley in the summer to allow for work to begin on the new61,000 seater stadium, which will cost in the region of £750m.

Spurs hotshotHarry Kane is targeting anunbeaten home record this season as a fitting send off for their 118-year-old home.

As reported in theExpress, when asked if it was possible, Kane replied"Hopefully, touch wood. It would be nice. It's the last year at White Hart Lane, we never want to get beat. So you never know. We take each game as it comes, of course.

"Everton next week is another tough game, they're on good form, so we've just got to go into that one with the same energy, same desire and hopefully come out with a win.

"We know we've got winnable games coming up," said Kane. "Although every game is tough in the Premier League, we feel at home we're very strong, we're not conceding many goals, like today as well."

With six games left at The Lane, and Manchester United and Everton still to visit, the task will not be an easy one. But the England striker is feeling confident about his side's chances:

"We've just got to continue that, that confidence, we know it's the last year at White Hart Lane, we want to hopefully do the best we can. And so far, so good. So it's important we do that over the next month or two."

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino shares his star player's optimism, and believes that knowing that this is the last season has contributedto the North London clubs success at home:

"This season we are normally winning games and if not we are playing very well at White Hart Lane," he said.

"Maybe because we all, the supporters, the players and the staff, we all feel that it's the last season here and it's a very special atmosphere on the pitch and in the stadium. That helps the team play well."

Tottenham have the second best home record in the league, with leaders Chelsea having the best. However, Spurs are the only unbeaten side at home in the league this season, and demolished Stoke City 4-0 at the weekend.
