Tottenham Hotspur are said to beset to rival Everton in a bid to secure Manchester United winger Memphis Depay in January.

Reports have emerged that Spurs are considering making a move for the Dutchman and will match any bid Ronald Koeman makes - withMauricio Pochettino a big fan of the unsettled winger.

According to theLiverpool Echo, the 22-year-oldis also being tracked by Roma, Wolfsburg and Nice as he considers his future at Old Trafford.

The Toffees had been firm favourites to sign the winger after Koeman openly expressed his interest recently, with Jose Mourinho hinting that the Dutchman and Morgan Schneiderlin could leave the club next month.

Everton are desperate for some attacking talent after new £30m signing Yannick Bolasie was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a serious knee ligamentinjury, butthey face stiff competition from Spurs, who snatchedFrench international Moussa Sissoko from their clutches in the summer on deadline day this summer.

Depay joined United in a £25m move in 2015, but has failed to live up to the potential he showed for PSV Eindhoven earlier in his career.

Speaking this week, Mourinho said:I am always open to listen to offers for every player. More than listen to offers, I am always ready to listen to the players themselves. So any player who knocks on my door and is not happy and wants to move, when the offers are correct, I will never stop a player from leaving even if it is to a rival."
