Mauricio Pochettino is not looking too far beyond Tottenham Hotspur's next game in the Premier League.

Spurs remained second on the table with a 2-1 win over Southampton at White Hart Lane.

League action takes a back seat next weekend for international fixtures and Pochettino insists he cannot do anything but focus on the April 1 meeting with Burnley as his side strives valiantly to bridge the gap with title favourites Chelsea.

"The aim is the next game," he told Sky Sports.

"It is difficult because we now have 10 days without our players. They need to play for their national teams. We hope that nothing happens and all will arrive back in a very good position to start to fight again for the league."

Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli (penalty) were on target as Spurs got the better of the Saints in North London.
