Although performing extremely well in the last few seasons, Tottenham have not exactly made any memorable acquisitions in thetransfer window in a long time, despite attempting to strike gold over recent times.

Hopefully for Spurs fans, club's chairman Daniel Levy is about to change that by appointing a new chief scout for the club.

Well, 'new' wouldn't be the exact word as the guy's already known inside White Hart Lane: Steve Hitchen, who's been in charge of recruitment in Tottenham from 2005 to 2010.

Current Hotspurs' head of scouting Paul Mitchell is currently serving his notice period after asking to leave the club, and Levy saw there a great opportunity to revive Tottenham's scouting network.

Hiring a personality such as Hitchen, who already worked for the club and made some pretty big moves in his career, seems just the right way to do it.

While at Tottenham, Hitchen notably got the SpursCroatian superstar LukaModrić from Dinamo Zagreb for £17.85m. He was later sold to Real Madrid for £25.5m. Hitchen is also known for having brought Luis Suárez to Liverpool, whom he joined after his time at Tottenham in 2010.
