The President of Stade Rennais FC, Nicolas Holveck has indicated that the club is hoping the signing of Jérémy Doku will provide the needed squad boost for the 2020/2021 football season.
The club has started the French Ligue 1 campaign on a good note and find themselves top of the standings of the division after Matchday 6.
On transfer deadline day today, Stade Rennais has reinforced its squad with the signing of Belgian forward Jérémy Doku.
Speaking after the deal to bring the RSC Anderlecht star from Belgium was completed, Stade Rennais president Nicolas Holveck has noted that the club hopes he increases their chances of competing well in the Ligue 1 and in the Uefa Champions League as well.
“This is an important event for us. We can see that the team is already well in place and we hope that these latest reinforcements will be able to provide this supplement which will allow us to remain in the first places of the championship and to do well in the Champions League”, the Rennais president said as quoted on the club’s website.
Nicolas Holveck continued, “Jérémy Doku is on the radars of all the biggest clubs. Stade Rennais FC is today capable of competing in this category. For Jérémy, it's a fantastic stage”.
