Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Stanley Afedzie has reacted to the club’s slow start to the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League campaign.

Following a challenging start to the season, the Phobians find themselves in the relegation zone.

The Ghanaian giants has managed just a win, losing two and drawing two in the five games they have played in the domestic top-flight campaign.

Speaking to Kessben FM monitored by Footballghana.com, the former midfielder expressed displeasure about the perform of the team but remain confident of a season turn around.

“Of course, I’m surprised with the performance of the team so far. Having had a good preseason, I expected them to have a great start to the Ghana Premier League season but that hasn’t been the case”

“I know things aren’t going well with the team but I believe things will change as the season unfolds. I will urge the players to improve their performance. As a Hearts of Oak player, you should always play for the fans because they make the club and without them there won’t be Hearts of Oak” he said.

Hearts of Oak are away to Bibiani to face Goldstars in the week 7 clash of the Ghana Premier League.
