Star Real Madrid Midfielder Admits He Could Never Join Rivals Barcelona

You won't be seeingBrazilian midfielder Casemiro swappingthe Santiago Bernabeu for Camp Nou anytime soon.


Speaking toOnda Cero,he admitted of a possible move to Real Madrid's fierce rivals:"I'll never play in Barcelona, because in Spain I am a Real Madrid supporter.

"Real Madrid is much more than I expected. I love waking up in the morning and going to Valdebebas.I love being with the players, joking, working, learning. I try to live football every day.Real Madrid is my life today."


Whilst the 24-year-old has ruled out a move to Barcelona, there have been a number of players who have jumped ship across Spain over the years.Current Barcelona manager Luis Enrique signed forBarça from Real Madrid in 1996, whilst both Luis Figo andRonaldo have both played for theSpanish giants in the past.

Casemiro initially struggled for first team opportunities under former manager Rafael Benítez, but has enjoyed a fine start to the season under Zinedine Zidane.


The midfielder started his career in his native country, playing for São Paulo before signing for the Champions League holders in 2013. He was loaned out to Porto during the 2014-15 season, before breaking into the first team in the early half of the 2016-17 campaign.


His importance to the side has been highlighted recently, with the team failing to win in four after he was ruled out with a fractured leg.
