Statistic Shows Why Olivier Giroud Is So Much More Valuable to Arsenal Than Many Expect

Published on: 03 January 2017

Arsenal dug themselves out of a proverbial hole on Tuesdaynight at Bournemouth, though not quite all the way.

In the end, despite the fact they came back from three goals down to draw with the 10-man Cherries, their 3-3 draw at the Vitality Stadium was two points dropped.

Make no mistake about it. Arsenal are now eight points behind league leaders Chelsea, and the Blues can extend that to 11 should they beat Tottenham on Wednesday night.

It could have been worse though, had it not been for the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Lucas Perez (what a goal, by the way)and of course, Olivier Giroud.

The Frenchman struck with an injury time equaliser to salvage a point, and made two assists on the night to bring the Gunners back in to it.He's now directly contributed to goal every 49 minutes in the Premier League this season.

To add to that, check out this incredible stat from OptaJoe, which reveals that the beautiful man is scoring at a remarkable rate. 11 goals from his last 15 shots on target is quite telling; he's a man right in form.

11 - Olivier Giroud has scored 11 goals from his last 15 shots on target in all competitions. Handsome.

Some Arsenal fans perhaps believe his presence in the team is taking away from Alexis Sanchez's influence in central areas, but as it stands and if he continues scoring at his current rate, the Frenchman is and will remainundroppable.

He's hit six goals in 13 appearances so far.
