Statistics Show Liverpool Should Be Very Confident Ahead of Mammoth Chelsea Clash

Published on: 30 January 2017

The last thing Liverpool wanted at the end of their week of hell is a clash against high-flying Chelsea, but that is what's on offer.

Jurgen Klopp's men were knocked out of the EFL Cup and the FA Cup last week, as well as being defeated by relegation battling Swansea City.

However, researchers at theMetrohave found a glimmer of hope for Liverpool fans ahead of the clash on Tuesday.

Astonishingly, Klopp has been unable to pick his first choice forward line since early November. At one point or another at least one of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho, Sadio Mane and Adam Lallana have been unavailable for the Reds.

With all four available Liverpool registered an average of 2.7 points-per-game and 3.4 goals-per-game. Yet, without their first choice forwards Klopp's men have only averaged 1.7 points-per-game and only 1.8 goals-per-game.

Liverpool fans will be delighted to hear that the quartet are all available for Tuesday night's game. Mane is a doubt to start the game, following his late arrival back from AFCON, but will be in the match day squad.

When the four have played together Liverpool have a 85.7 win percentage, compared to just a 46.7 win percentage when they couldn't all play together.

There have been many doubts over Jurgen Klopp's tactics in recent weeks, following his team's poor run of form, but with his full strength squad coming back together, the German coach will be hoping results turn around for the club's sake and for his sake.
