Hamburg head coach, Daniel Thioune, heaped huge praise on centre-back Stephan Ambrosius after a stellar performance against Aue in Bundesliga 2.
Ambrosius was diagnosed with COVID-19 and had to quarantine for ten days but after he returned, he played impressively well and it prompted the coach to give him his props.
“But he gave the impression that we know from him,” praised coach Daniel Thioune.
“Stephan is a mentality player, very hardworking and very consistent. That's what you need in this league. And you don't lose that with a few days of quarantine. "
“Stephan is someone who can always help us. There was some risk in bringing him after the break. But a manageable one, because we know about its qualities. "
The 21-year-old is expected to play in subsequent matches.
