Steve Bruce Confesses That Aston Villa Is His Toughest Managerial Challenge

He may have got off to a fine start to life at Aston Villa, but new manager Steve Bruce admits that getting them promoted back to the Premier League may be his biggest challenge as a manager.


Speaking totalkSPORT, the former Hull manager said of getting them promoted: "Thiswould be the biggest one though, if I can get this up and back and running.

"This is probably, arguably the biggest challenge and biggest club I've waited for for 20 years in management."


The team haveenjoyed a quick turnaround under the former Manchester United defender, winning two games, anddrawing one,including afirst away win since August 2015, beating Reading 2-1.

Despite making a number of big signings in the summer, Aston Villa had endured a tough time under formermanager RobertoDi Matteo, which saw them slip down the league, despite being named favourites for promotion at the start of the season.


Bruce had recently enjoyed promotion with Hull, before leaving in the summer. He will now be hoping to climb the Championship table, taking them back to the Premier League once again.


As well as winning promotion twice with Hull, he also won promotion with Villa's rivals, Birmingham.
