Stoke City attacker Xherdan Shaqiri admits he wants to play in the Champions League again.

He won club football's biggest prize as a 21-year-old with Bayern Munich in 2013 – as well as the Club World Cup and European Super Cup – and believes he can get back on that stage.

"Most players have their best time not with 24 or 25 years, but between 27 and 30. I have already won a lot of trophies but why should I not want to win the Champions League again?" said Shaqiri.

But he added: “Football can change quickly. There are always unexpected success stories. What happens in the next few years, nobody knows."
