Stoke City boss Paul Lambert was happy with their point earned at Southampton.
His biggest disappointment was the first-half loss of Mame Diouf with a shoulder injury which is still being assessed.
Praising his players after today's game, Lambert stated: "Since I came here they have been excellent. One defeat in six, at any other time you'd be happy.
"There's a lot of games to play and we are playing well and look a team."
He acknowledged that Diouf's exit, which left him requiring oxygen after being distressed by the shoulder injury after a bad fall, had disrupted his game plan.
"I think it affected us," Lambert continued. "We lost Mame and that was a blow because I thought he started the game well.
"I couldn't put Crouchy on at that time because he's had a nasty injury himself (an infected ankle) and only trained since Thursday.
"We had to get to half-time, then changed it a little bit (by bringing Crouch on).
"Second half we had a couple of attacking moments, but we also had to throw bodies in the way and I was delighted with that."
