Stoke still to hear from clubs about Imbula

Stoke City are still to field offers for Giannelli Imbula.

The Sentinel says Stoke are letting it be known to interested parties that a loan deal is off the table as they seek to offload the 24 year-old Frenchman.

And the club's top brass, which met last Thursday, insist Stoke will be no pushover on price despite Imbula's dramatic fall from grace during his 18 months in the Premier League.

Stoke forked out a club record £18.3m to sign him from FC Porto and the fee has clearly weighed heavily on Imbula as he visibly struggled to acclimatise to the greater physical and defensive demands of the Premier League.

Stoke are looking to recoup a sizeable chunk of that £18.3m up front, with scope to negotiate further add-ons to minimize the financial hit on one of the club's most publicised transfer flops ever.
