Striker Kelvin Yeboah's medical at Augsburg imminent

As Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg reported on Monday, Kelvin Yeboah is on his way to FC Augsburg to undergo the mandatory medical check-up. As a result, a loan with a buy option is on the cards.

First and foremost, a transfer should have been on the edge of failing. The Augsburg management was supposedly successful in convincing the striker, who is still under contract with Serie B side Genoa until 2026, to go to the Fugger city.

Sky reporter Florian Plettenberg claims that an agreement was made on personal conditions.

Kelvin Yeboah joined Genoa on 8 January 2022 from Austrian Bundesliga side Sturm Graz. He has made 17 appearances for Genoa in all competitions from 2022 to date.

Born in Accra, Yeboah grew up in Italy and is eligible to represent both countries at the international level though he is yet to be capped.

On 13 August 2021, he was called up to the Ghana senior team ahead of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia and South Africa.

However, he rejected the Ghanaian call-up and honoured the Italian under-21 call-up. On 3 September 2021, he made his debut with the Italy U21 squad, playing as a substitute in the qualifying match which they won 3-0 against Luxembourg.
