Those who have suffered through Sunderland's first half of the season, which has featured 11 defeats and four victories, may find it difficult toaccept that there will be a satisfying story come the end of the season. And even fewer will want to buy the DVD, if they are relegated.

However, strikerVictor Anichebe has been able to notice the theatrical element to the Black Cats' start to the Premier League campaign, withthe summer-signing described Sunderland's sub-par performances as 'ike a drama series.'

Speaking in the wake of his side's 1-0 victory over Watford, the Nigerian said, as quoted by theMirror:"Hopefully we can keep it going. It's like a drama series that we have right now. We're nearly out of the bottom three, but then we come back in."

Quite what series Anichebe has in mind is unclear, but at present it has the bleakness of HBO's Game of Thrones, and the mystery of Twin Peaks. Fans of the Wearsiderswill also be praying for a less disappointing ending than Lost, afterwinning four of their last seven, including their win against Watford on Saturday.

We've had a good run for a month now. A lot of people wouldn't have expected us to have got the results we've had. Some people probably wouldn't even have thought we'd win this game, but we have that grit and desire.

Fascinating to see how much goes into green technology for cars. Thanks to @NissanUK for the tour. I see a greener future ï'ï¾ pic.twitter.com/mhJzc0aRla

We haven't got a huge squad, but we stick together no matter what. The manager is very clear in telling us what he wants from us. That's all that we have to do “ we can't worry about anything else.

Manager David Moyes has recently commented on his lack of available funds to strengthen come January, but as a free agent, whomoved to Sunderland from Everton in the summer, Anichebe hopes to serve as case study for picking up bargains in the transfer market.

"I was free, and so was Steven Pienaar. There are a lot of free people out there who are itching to prove a point.

I've got friends in a similar position to the one I was in, who have been on to me, asking if they can speak to the manager. But we should just enjoy the victory today and let the people behind the scenes get on with their jobs.
