Bernard Tekeptey’s deal with Fortuna Düsseldorf means that the club will benefit from his quality next season in case they are demoted to the lower division.
The club currently sits 16th on the standings of the German Bundesliga table and looks like they will be involved in the relegation battle for the remainder of the 2019/2020 season.
While they prepare for whatever may happen at the end of the season, the club is hoping to have some of the top players around to facilitate their fight back to the top-flight.
One player they are almost certain they can rely on is Ghana’s Thomas Tekpetey who signed a 2-year loan deal with the club from Schalke 04 before the commencement of the league.
In line with that Fortuna Düsseldorf will have the winger around for another season no matter what happens at the end of this one.
As they hope his mother club does not call him in the summer, footballghana.com understands that Fortuna is planning to renegotiate his deal.
Meanwhile, Tekpetey's compatriot Kasim Nuhu is expected to return to TSG Hoffenheim at the end of the season.
