Sulley Muntari does not run - Pescara coach

Published on: 07 April 2017

Coach of Serie A strugglers Pescara, Zdenek Zeman, has criticised the poor movement of experienced Ghanaian midfielder Sulley Muntari.

Zeman inherited Muntari when he replaced the Ghanaian's former teammate Massimo Oddo, who was relieved of his duties with the club rooted to the bottom of the Serie A table.

Zeman in a press conference today said his whole team could run except Muntari, 32.

He said: "Aside Muntari the team runs, but the midfielder should not do it, he must keep a cool head. I have talented players, but we must be for the team. Muric for example, has a lot of talent, but it is still individual quality."

Muntari's Pescara travel to face fellow basement dwellers Empoli on Saturday in the Serie A.

He recently scored his first Serie A goal for Pescara in their 3-1 loss to Udinese on March 12.
