Sulley Muntari handed number 21 jersey at Deportivo La Coruna

Ghana midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari has been handed the number 21 jersey at Deportivo La Coruna. 

The Ghanaian was named in the Deportivo squad for the La Liga game against Espanyol this weekend.

Suuley Muntari joined the Spanish side as a free agent, and will be with the club till the end of the season. But has an option to extend his stay at the end of the season.

The 33 year old last played for Pescara in the Italian Serie A but left after he was racial abuse in a Serie A game against Cagliari.

The former Black Stars midfielder has been training with the club for sometime but has now joined former teammate and friend Clarence Seedorf who was appointed manager of the club on a six month deal.

Sulley Muntari previously played for AC Milan, Inter Milan, Portsmouth and Al Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.

Deportivo La Coruna are 19th on the La Liga table with 17 points. Sulley Muntari's experience will be needed to help the club escape the drop.
