The assistant head coach of Hearts of Oak, David Ocloo has opened up on the strategy he adopted to secure victory for the team in the Super Clash against Asante Kotoko.
Speaking in a post-match interview on Sunday evening after the 1-0 win, the former Liberty Professionals coach said, “We knew Lamptey was their playmaker; arguably the best passer of the ball in the league, so I had to put Mtange on him.”
Coach David Ocloo added, “I also put Obeng and Yorke at the flanks to try and minimize their full-backs from going forward.”
Sunday’s Super Clash was decided by a solitary strike from Hearts of Oak defender Konadu Yiadom.
The win saw the Phobians being crowned as Champions of the 2023 President’s Cup.
In addition to the Cup success, the Ghanaian giants also secured three points from the Week 20 encounter of the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
