Swansea City have confirmed, via their clubwebsite, that midfielder Ki Sung-yeung will be out of action for at least two weeks, after fracturing the third toe in his right foot.

Ki has featured in every match for the Swans since new manager Bob Bradley took charge in October. The midfielder came off the bench during his team's 1-1 draw with Everton last weekend which has helped arrest their slide for the time being.

The South Korea was unable to start the match at Goodison having returned late from international duty. Well known for his hard work and energy, Ki has had a disappointing start to the season having failed to register a single goal or assist.

He will now join Leon Britton and Jefferson Montero on the sidelines, although both could potentially return for the Swans' next league match, where they will host fellow relegation rivalsCrystal Palace on Saturday.

Ki recently made headlines after stating that the club were in crisis, whilst he was away on international duty. His manager has denied these suggestions though, stating that his side simply needed to improve.

He toldBBC Sport:"We certainly understand we are in an important stretch, need results, need this confidence boost.

"We have to be strong, we have to understand that it's not just about one part of football. We have got to be better in many ways."

The Welsh outfit are without a win since the opening day of the season and are currently rock bottom of the Premier League, with a mere six points.

Having failed to take three points from any of their previousmatches at the Liberty stadium this season, the Swans will hope for an upturn in fortunes this weekend, as the threat of relegation continues to grow week by week.
