Swansea City Players Call Off Christmas Party Due to Dismal Premier League Form

Swansea City have cancelled their scheduled Christmas Party after the players decided that it would be 'inappropriate'.

After Saturday's 3-0 loss at Middlesbrough, the Swans are languishing in the relegation zone going into the festive period.

Defeat at the Riverside Stadium meant that Bob Bradley's side are now three points off safety, and find themselves joint bottom of the Premier League table.

AndWales Onlinehave reported that there will be no celebrations for the players due to their disastrous first half of the season.

Clearly the players are aware that there has been little to shout about for the Swansea faithful, particularly when considering that only six sides in Premier League history have had only 12 points on the board at this stage survived the drop.

Swansea are at home against both West Brom and Bournemouth on Boxing Day and New Years Day respectively, games that are likely to decide the future of under pressure manager Bradley.

After the loss against Middlesbrough, Bradley took a resilient stance, but admitted that he needs results.

I already have pressure on myself to see if we can make the team stronger, fight for points every week and I will continue to do that," he said.

"I go in motivated every day, I like this group of players, I love the football club. It's a challenge and I knew what I was getting into so I'm not backing down.

That's the challenge, that's my job. When a team has put itself in a tough spot everyone has to stick together in the toughest time and fight the fight.
