The 26 year old scored as Swansea picked a point against Crystal Palace, his second of the season since scoring in August against the same opponents.

Ayew, has been a key member of Swansea since joining from Aston Villa but has struggled to be prolific following the role he plays at the Welsh club but with the club deep in the relegation zone, the Ghanaian feels relieved to have scored and earn the club a point on Saturday.

“I’ve been waiting for that goal for some time now,” Ayew told the club’s website. “Every weekend, you want to score but you cannot control the situation.

“My two league goals have come against Palace. I hope I can build on this and, more importantly, help things change for the team.

“It was a good game from us. We tried to get the win, but the most important thing was that we didn’t lose.

“We need to get out of this situation and will fight very hard to do so,” he concluded.

Jordan was leading the atack in a new system by caretaker boss Leon Brtton, following the sacking of Paul Clement last week.
