Swedish Allsvenskan side Varberg Bois have completed the signing of Ghanaian youngster Gideon Mensah on a permanent deal from FC Nordsjælland.

Mensah initially moved to Varberg on loan but FC Nordsjælland have announced that he will be joining the Swedish outfit permanently from January 1, 2021 on a three-year deal.

"The 20-year-old Ghanaian stopper is permanently switching to Varberg Bois in the best Swedish row from January 2021," FC Nordsjælland wrote on their official website.

He joined FC Nordsjælland from the Right to Dream academy in Ghana two years ago.

"We think it's a good opportunity for Gideon to get into a competitive league and a good club that already has a year-long partnership with FCN and Right to Dream," Nordsjaelland Academy Director Gareth Henderby said.

"His loan deal with Varberg was about getting playing time and proving his level, and he has already achieved that in a few months, which underlines the strong character he possesses.

"In Gideon, Varberg gets a strong player and a fantastic person with strong values who have contributed nicely to both the academy in Ghana and in FCN during the time on the U19 team here. We wish Gideon all the best in Sweden and with his career ahead," he concluded.
