Ghana defender, Tariq Lamptey assisted twice in Brighton's 3-1 away win against Manchester United.

The right-back was named in the Seagulls starting XI against the Red Devils after recovering from an injury.

Brighton, who have been impressive under Roberto De Zerbi broke the deadlock with former Manchester United striker, Danny Welbeck scoring in the 20th minute.

After recess, Lampety assisted Pascal Gross in the 53rd minute to double the lead for Brighton.

The former Chelsea defender also provided another assist as substitute Joao Pedro made it 3-0 in the 71st minute.

However, Hannibal Mejbri's first United goal gave the hosts some hope, but in a frenetic finish, it was the visitors who came closest to finding the net again as Andre Onana made four excellent saves, the best of which came in injury time to deny on-loan Barcelona man Ansu Fati a debut goal.

It was United's first home defeat in 13 months when Brighton again triumphed here. The Seagulls are now on a run of four successive Premier League wins over their hosts, and this victory brought more boos at the final whistle, though not on anywhere near the same scale as when Hojlund was withdrawn.

Tariq Lamptey, who played 77 minutes of the game will hope to keep his place in the team after a brilliant performance.

The 22-year-old who was rated 7.2 had 54 touches of the ball.

He will be hoping to his place when Brighton hosts AEK Athens in the Europa League at the AMEX Stadium on Thursday before hosting Bournemouth in the next Premier League game.
