Ghanaian youngster Ernest Nuamah has explained why he chose to join Olympic Lyon at the expense of other interested clubs.
Nuamah sealed a move to the former Ligue 1 champions on a one-year loan deal despite interest from several club in the transfer window.
Having excelled at FC Nordsjaelland last season, where he was named Player of the Year and Young Player of the year, Dortmund and Paris Saint Germain were all interested in his services.
According to the 19-year-old, he can fit in perfectly well at Lyon, hence the decision to join the club over other teams.
“I think it was the right choice and a lot of clubs were interested in me. There was a lot of discussions but what was important was the best move for me and I feel like this is the best move," he added.
“I still want to develop as a player and continue playing, so I feel like Lyon is the best move”
Explaining why Lyon is the best move, he said, “Is how the team is structured and how they play and I feel like I will fit more in the style of play and also get playing time”
Nuamah joined his new teammates for training this week and will be part of the team for the game against Paris Saint Germain.
