The Sunyani-born defender joined the Miners from Bofoakwa Tano last season and appeared in not less than 10 matches scoring one goal against Aduana Stars. The first choice central defensive pair of Osei Agyemang and Samed Ibrahim meant limited playing time for the talented player in Obuasi.

The Black Stars “B” player spoke to FootballmadeinGhana.com after penning a three-year deal in Kumasi and issued a passionate message to the people of Obuasi.

“I want to say a big thank You to the people of Obuasi, the management of Ashgold, the coaches, the fans, my teammates and the whole of Obuasiman. It was a great honour to represent this club and I am very grateful.

“It was a rare opportunity for me and I cannot forget that. I have left but the club is still in my heart and I wish them the best in the future.”

Habib was part of Maxwell Konadu’s Black Stars “B” team that drew with the national team of Namibia in an exhibition match last year.

The highly-rated youngster has been signed alongside Ivorian striker Dany Zabo Teguy to offer reinforcement to C.K Akonnor’s team in their Confederation Cup campaign.
