Ghana legend, Stephen Appiah has charged the Black Stars to give their all for the country at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Ivory Coast.

Ahead of the continental showpiece, the AFCON trophy unveiling was held in Ghana on Monday, November 27,  at the TotalEnergies House.

Speaking to Joy Sports at the unveiling, Stephen Appiah described the AFCON as a big deal.

He admonished players who will be selected to play for the Black Stars to be ready to give their all to bring glory to the country.

"[The AFCON] is our World Cup so it's very important. Being part of the players that would be selected to go and play in the tournament is very huge.

"For [the players], nobody should tell them how important the AFCON is. So they should go out there and play their hearts out and I am sure something will come out of it,” Stephen Appiah said.

The 2023 AFCON will kick off in Ivory Coast on January 13, 2024.

Ghana will play her first match in Group B on Sunday, November 14, in a game against Cape Verde.
