Samuel Boadu, the head coach of Hearts of Oak has reiterated that their aim was to beat Ashgold to return to winning ways.

In the matchday 21 games, the Phobians hosted the Miners at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The reigning champions recorded a 2-1 win over the Obuasi based side after 90 minutes of action.

Daniel Afriyie Barnieh scored a brace as the Rainbow side secured all three points.

Speaking after the game, Boadu lauded his side and revealed that the objective was to secure all the three points

“We all know the trend, Ashanti Gold is a good side, but we were so determined to beat them and that’s what we just did,” he said.

Hearts of Oak now sit on the 6th position with 32 points.

The Phobians will be hosted by Berekum Chelsea in the matchday 22 games in Berekum.
