Executive council member of the Ghana Football Association, Samuel Anim Addo has backed Black Stars to ride on the 'spirit’ in Kumasi to beat Nigeria in 2022 FIFA World Cup play-offs later this month.

Baba Yara Stadium will host the crucial game after the Cape Coast Stadium by CAF and FIFA.

The Black Stars will host Nigeria at the Cape Coast Stadium on March 25 before travelling to Abuja for the second leg at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium on March 29, 2022.

The winner of the tie will represent the continent at the World football showpiece which is scheduled to take place from November 21 to December 18, 2022, in Qatar.

Speaking on Citi TV’s Football Made in Ghana Show, Samuel Anim Addo said Ghanaians should rally behind the Black Stars to create an intimidating atmosphere to help give Ghana an advantage over Nigeria on Friday, March 25, 2022.

“There has been some flexibility in the systems, and I urge every Ghanaian to come around. There is some spirit in Kumasi, and we want them to feel it when they come around to play us,” Addo told Citi TV.

“The Nigerians know that we are better than them, they know that whatever they know about football and life, we taught them."

"They claim we don’t have Asamoah Gyan, but they must know that the spirit of Gyan will be there and we will score them, the spirit of the Asanteman kingdom will be behind us, and we score them. They must feel the heat that they are coming to play in Kumasi. We will show them that we are Ghana,” he added.
