There is something wrong with how the GFA is handling the Black Stars - Frank Annoh-Dompreh

The Member of Parliament for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annor-Dompreh, says there is something wrong with how the Ghana Football Association is handling the Black Stars.

He said this in the Parliament House on Wednesday after the latest disaster-class that the Black Stars dropped at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Annor Dompreh has asked government to get involved in the reviving of the Black Stars.

“All of us must be humble enough and accept that there is something wrong with the handling of our senior national team, the Black Stars; there is something definitely wrong with them.

“I agree that there should be some reforms, but we must be specific on what we want to do even if we have to interfere and attract the sanction of FIFA. If we have to do it to safe guard the sport, we have to do it.”

Ghana missed out on a place in the Round of 16 after finishing third in a group consisting of Cape Verde, Egypt and Mozambique.

The Black Stars lost 2-1 to Cape Verde before back to back 2-2 draws against Egypt and Mozambique confirmed Ghana’s elimination from the tournament.

The Black Stars, for the second successive tournament, exited at the group stages without registering a win, extending the country's wait for its fifth AFCON title to 42 years.
