Black Stars forward, Inaki Williams, has shared a deeply moving account of his parents' arduous journey from Ghana to Spain several years ago.

In an interview conducted by ESPN, the Athletic Bilbao player recounted the extraordinary hardship his parents endured during their migration.

Williams revealed that his parents embarked on this journey on foot, leaving behind their home in Accra to reach the Spanish city of Bilbao.

He narrated, "My mom and dad lived in Ghana. My mother was pregnant with me and my father told her 'let’s get out of here.' And they set off through the desert."

The harrowing conditions of their journey became apparent as Williams continued, stating, "They had to drink their own urine to survive. My father was barefoot and the soles of his feet were burned by the sand. They had to bury people who died during the trip."

Hailing from Athletic Bilbao's youth academy, Williams boasts an impressive record of over 375 first-team appearances for the club, which notably includes an exceptional La Liga feat of 251 consecutive games.
