Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara has said that fellow teammates Philipp Lahm, Xabi Alonso and Manuel Neuer are making him a better player.

The midfielder made the move to Bavaria from Barcelona in 2013 and despite having had long spells out injured, he is highly regarded as one of the best midfielders around.

Now according toGoal, he has heaped praise on his team mates, stating that playing with those calibre of players is helping him fulfil his potential.

"Football is my profession, my job. We develop with the years. The years give us experience of taking the right or the wrong decisions. And with the years you choose better decisions than before," saidthe 25-year-old.

"Am I more consistent? For sure. When you take the right decisions everything is coming. How you have to rest, how you have to eat, how you have to train, during the games the moves you have to make, the passes you have to make. These things make you have more energy during the game.

"It is the experience, the years. At the same time you see many players with much experience like Xabi, Philipp, Manu [Neuer], and you learn about them. It's getting easier with this, over the years you don't stop learning. That's the most important thing. If you think you've learned everything already you won't develop."

The Spain international has also applauded his younger brother Rafinha after he broke into the Barcelona setup as a first team regular.

"For me it's no surprise to see what he is doing. He's an important player and he's doing amazing right now. He is growing, he is learning, I think now he is there. He is ready for to play all the time," he said.

"He's my little brother, I have to control him every day. I love him and I'm in touch with him all the time."
