Thierry Henry Takes to Twitter to Reveal Who He Thinks Is the Premier League's Best Player

Former Arsenal striker, Thierry Henry, has taken to Twitter to single out the player who he believes ought to win PFA Player of the Year.

In a surprising Premier League season, Riyad Mahrez collected the honour last season after guiding the Foxes to a first ever Premier League title win.

This time aroundhis former teammate, N'Golo Kante, looks much more likely to claim the award as he closes in on a second consecutive league title.

Speaking on his personal Twitter account,Henrysaid:"It's hard to compare players whose attributes are different but in terms of the best all-around you cannot deny Sanchez in terms of his passing, pressure and goals.

"But you have to give credit to Hazard, Kane, Dele Alli, Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Sadio Mane, N'Golo Kante, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Diego Costa for their equally impressive contributions."

Sanchez cut a frustrated figure in the 3-1 loss to Chelsea on Saturday, but the Chilean still leads the way in terms of goals scored for Arsenal this season. With 15 goals, Sanchez is level with Diego Costa and Ibrahimovic as the trio share second place behind Everton's Lukaku.

Unlike the other leading scorers, Sanchez is performing pretty well as far as assists go with eight in the league so far - Manchester City's De Bruyne on 12.

As assistant manager to Roberto Martinez in charge of the Belgian national team, it's a bit of a surprise that Henry didn't decide to opt for one of the league's many outstanding Belgian players, such as Lukaku or Thibaut Courtois. Perhaps on this occasion, his ingrained Arsenal bias was able to overrule his Belgium loyalties.

Despite belonging to the man that Henry believes is the best in the league, Arsenal are far from the best team in the league, which is reflected by their usual position of fourth in the table.

The Gunners have a clash with Hull City next weekend, a side who just beat Liverpool 2-0, and can't really afford any more slip-ups at this stage with the end of the season drawing near.
