Thomas Partey disappointed with Champions League draw against Roma

Ghana and Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey believes his side should have beaten AS Roma on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League game away in Italy.

Midfielder Thomas Partey, again chosen to start in midfield, said that his team had deserved more but just been unable to find the goal their performance deserved after their 0-0 draw.

"We tried everything and played a good game, but unfortunately we were not able to score," Thomas said. "We should have won tonight. We knew this was not an easy place to come, we pushed them back, but were unable to find that goal.

"A point away from home is a lot for us, we must keep going and think about the next game.

Atletico had plenty of chances to score through the 90 minutes, with Saul Niguez hitting a post after just two minutes, and Koke's effort somehow cleared off the line by Kostas Manolas with Alisson saving Antoine Griezmann's follow-up before half-time.

After the break Luciano Vietto, Angel Correa (twice), Yannick Carrasco and Saul were all denied.

Partey and his Spanish side now lie second in Group C following Chelsea's 6-0 win over Qarabag.
