Thomas Partey named ‘Sports Man of the Year’ at the 2020 EMY Africa Awards

Ghana and Atletico Madrid superstar, Thomas Teye Partey has been named as the Sports Man of the Year at the 2020 EMY Africa Awards.

The 5th edition of the annual awards was held in Accra on Saturday, July 4, 2020, with several personalities being recognized and awarded for the exploits in their field.

On the night, Thomas Partey was adjudged as the Sports Man of the year for his outstanding displays for his club in country in the past year.

Due to his absence, his official spokesperson Samuel Zigah received the award on his behalf at the colourful ceremony.

The Rojiblancos midfielder beat off competition from Black Stars and Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew, as well as Coach C.K Akonnor and boxer Wasiru Mohammed.

The award goes into the collection of Thomas Partey who is now a transfer target of a host of top clubs in Europe.

It is understood that the likes of Manchester United, PSG, and Juventus are all after his signature. Meanwhile, Arsenal remains the favorite to land the midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window.
