Thomas Partey's injury against Manchester City not serious

Thomas Partey's injury sustained against Manchester City yesterday is not serious according to the Sun journalist Jack Rosser.

On Friday, the midfielder started the FA Cup match between the Etihad Stadium and was replaced in the middle of the field by Albert Sambi Lokonga at halftime.

Nathan Ake scored the only goal of the game as Manchester City edged past Arsenal 1-0 in a closely-fought FA Cup fourth-round battle at the Etihad Stadium.

Partey has been an integral part of an Arsenal team that leads the Premier League standings by five points, but his history of injury problems scared Arsenal fans.

Jack Rosser tweeted: "Arsenal will still want midfield cover, but initial checks have shown that Thomas Partey's injury is not a serious one,"

"Will be assessed further in the coming days but expectation is he'll be fit for Everton,"

Thomas Partey has played 16 games and scored two goals for the Gunners in the Premier League this season.
